Registration Opens for Air Force Research Laboratory and Griffiss Institute STEM Summer Camp Programs

Celebrating 10 years of STEM Camps!

 

ROME, NY — The Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate’s (AFRL/RI) STEM Outreach Program, in partnership with the Griffiss Institute (GI), is proud to celebrate 10 years of STEM Summer Camp programs to local students, in grades 5-12.

STEM Summer Camp programs provide opportunities for students to further their education beyond the classroom. Students learn real skills that can be directly applied to STEM careers and education.

The following STEM Summer Camps will be offered for the 2018 year:

 

LEGO ROBOTICS CAMP

Dates: Monday, June 25 – Friday, June 29 | Target Group: Grades 5-8

 

ENGINEERING CAMP

(This camp is offered twice, with two dates to choose from)

Session A: Dates: Monday, July 9 – Friday, July 13 | Target Group: Grades 6-8

Session B: Dates: Monday, July 23 – Friday, July 27 | Target Group: Grades 6-8

 

SMALL UNMANNED AERIAL SYSTEMS (sUAS) / DRONE CAMP

(This camp is offered twice, with two dates to choose from)

Session A: Dates: Monday, July 16 – Friday, July 20 | Target Group: Ages 14-18

Session B: Dates: Monday, August 6 – Friday, August 10 | Target Group: Ages 14-18

 

CYBER CAMP 2.0

Dates: Monday, July 30 – Friday, August 3 | Target Group: Grades 8-12

 

ARDUINO CAMP

Dates: Monday, August 6 – Friday, August 10 | Target Group: Grades 8-12

 

ROPES ENTREPRENEUR CAMP

Dates: Monday, August 13 – Friday, August 17 | Target Group: Grades 6-9

 

Online registration for the summer camps opens on Tuesday, May 1, 2018. All summer camps are $100 per student, with scholarships available. Most camps run Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 4 pm, unless otherwise noted, and take place at Griffiss Institute, with the exception of the Drone Camp.
