Online Registration Opens for AFRL and Griffiss Institute STEM Summer Camps

2019 STEM Summer Camps

ROME, NY — The Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate’s (AFRL/RI) STEM Outreach Program, in partnership with the Griffiss Institute (GI), is proud to once again offer STEM Summer Camp programs to local students, in grades 5-12.

STEM Summer Camp programs provide opportunities for students to further their education beyond the classroom. Students learn real skills that can be directly applied to STEM careers and education.

The following STEM Summer Camps will be offered for the 2019 year:

 

CYBER CAMP

Dates: Monday, July 8 – Thursday, July 11, 2019 | Grades: 7th – 10th

 

CYBER CAMP 2.0

Dates: Monday, July 15 – Friday, July 19, 2019| Grades: 8th – 12th

 

DRONE CAMP

(This camp is offered twice, with two dates to choose from)

Session A: Dates: Monday, July 15 – Thursday, July 29, 2019| Grades: 9th – 12th

Session B: Dates: Monday, August 5 – Thursday, August 8, 2019 | Grades: 9th – 12th

 

ENGINEERING CAMP

Dates: Monday, July 22 – Friday, July 26, 2019 | Grades: 6th – 8th

 

QUANTUM CAMP (NEW FOR 2019!)

Dates: Monday, July 29 – Thursday, August 1, 2019 | Grades: 8TH – 12TH

 

LEGO ROBOTICS CAMP

Dates: Monday, August 5 – Friday, August 9, 2019| Grades: 5TH – 8TH

 

ARDUINO CAMP

Dates: Monday, August 12 – Thursday, August 15, 2019 | Grades: 8TH – 12TH

 

Online registration for the summer camps opened on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, and will remain open until all camps are filled. All summer camps are $100 per student, with scholarships available.

Cyber 2.0, LEGO Robotics, and Engineering Camps will run Monday through Thursday, 9am – 4pm; and Friday, 9am – 12 noon.

Cyber, both Drone Camps, Quantum, and Arduino Camps will run Monday through Thursday, 9am – 4pm, with no camp on Fridays.
