Dave joined the GI team back at the start of 2023 after he was inspired by GI’s core mission of developing the next generation of STEM talent and defense tech across the region, state, and nation! With that, he has especially enjoyed his ability to work with the interns that join the team every year from VICEROY to LEGACY, the latter of which is an Air Force program dedicated to cultivating curiosity in STEM for students.
Having worked so much with the students that come to GI, Dave has some powerful advice for each and every new face: network, collaborate, work as a team, and make sure to get as many Points of Contact as you can. In his experience, the GI’s goal of self-improvement and growth through experiential learning, including leadership classes and cross-functional teamwork can be found everywhere. So, if you are curious and ready to collaborate on some amazing things, GI is here to help you succeed.
When not at work, Dave may not be local to the Rome area, but he enjoys visiting when he can to see his team in person. But for all the interns and fellows who will be on grounds at the GI for the summer, he has a few places and events for them to put on their agenda. First is Rome’s Honor America Days on the last Saturday of July: a festival with music, vendors, food trucks, and more right on the grounds of the historic Fort Stanwix! But if you are looking for something a little smaller, pay a visit to the Vine and Fig Diner near Delta Lake for a cozy and tasty meal.
It all starts here at the GI!
