Griffiss Institute Now Accepting Applications for Summer Internship Program

2018 summer internship applications now being accepted

ROME, NY — The 2018 application cycle has begun for Griffiss Institute’s Summer Internship Program at the Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate (AFRL/RI). This is a paid summer internship opportunity for students currently enrolled in an accredited college or university at the freshman level through PhD level, to work on-site with AFRL/RI researchers on a wide variety of research projects.

The majority of the students selected will be majoring in technical fields such as Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics. There may also be a few positions available in accounting and finance, as well as multimedia, such as graphic communications, and marketing.

For applicants who reside more than 70 miles from Rome, New York, allowances will be available to help cover the cost of travel and living expenses if selected for a position.

“Last year, Griffiss Institute and AFRL/RI received over 600 applications from all across country,” said Bill Wolf, president at Griffiss Institute, “This highly coveted internship is one of the more competitive internship programs in the country, and the chosen interns will have the opportunity to be involved in the most valuable, challenging, and educational work.”

The application deadline is Wednesday, January 31, 2018.  Resumes and current transcripts are required with each application. Summer internships at AFRL/RI are for U.S. Citizens only.
