ROME, NY — The Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate (AFRL/RI), together with Griffiss Institute, North Country Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC), and NYSTEC, announce a special small business event, Introduction to Federal Small Business Programs and Opportunities at the AFRL Information Directorate, on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, 9:00 am – 12:30 pm, at Griffiss Institute, 725 Daedalian Drive, Rome, NY.
“Small businesses are a critical part of innovation in research for the federal government and a critical piece of the eco-system within the Mohawk Valley and Central NY Regions,” says Michael Wessing, principal engineer at Griffiss Institute, “ This half day event will enable small businesses to understand the available help for their business and the changing landscape of doing business with the federal government.”
Attendees will learn from industry experts about government-provided services, small business certifications, and AFRL Information Directorate procurement opportunities for small business categories including:
- Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Program
- Women-Owned Small Business
- Small Disadvantaged Business/8(a) Program
- HubZone Program
Presenters include the Small Business Administration (SBA), North Country PTAC and AFRL.
AFRL’s goal is to maximize opportunities for all small businesses.
