Air Force STEM Offers Summer Camps for Kids Grades 5-12

STEM Summer Camp

ROME, NY — The Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate (AFRL/RI), in partnership with the Griffiss Institute (GI) and Innovare Advancement Center, is proud to once again offer STEM Summer Camp programs to students, in grades 5-12, and current STEM funding has made it possible to provide summer camps FREE of charge in 2021!

“The Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate is thrilled to announce our 2021 slate of STEM summer camps for students entering 5th-12th grade. This year, we are launching two new camps, Cyber 2.0 and Rome Opportunity Program for Entrepreneur Students (ROPES). Additionally, Lego Robotics, Engineering 1.0, Arduino, Drones, STEAM: Rocks and Cyber 1.0 are all back! Some camps will be virtual, while others will meet in person. We can’t wait to see you!” says Shelby Barrett, AFRL/RI STEM Outreach Coordinator.

Our STEM Summer Camps will engage your child in new and exciting experiences this summer! Kids imagine, collaborate, explore and create all while learning super cool STEM skills that will help them in school and in life!

The following STEM Summer Camps will be offered for the 2021 year:

 

IN-PERSON CAMPS

 

Entrepreneur ROPES Camp

Dates: Monday, July 12 – Friday, July 16, 2021| Grades: 8 – 12

 

LEGO Robotics Camp

Dates: Monday, July 19 – Friday, July 23, 2021  | Grades: 5 – 8

 

Arduino Camp

Dates: Monday, July 26 – Thursday, July 29, 2021| Grades: 8 – 12

 

Drone Camp

Dates: Monday, August 9 – Friday, August 13, 2021| Grades: 9 – 12

 

VIRTUAL CAMPS

 

STEAM Camp: Rocks!

Dates: Monday, June 28 – Friday, July 2, 2021| Grades: 6 – 9

 

Engineering Camp 1.0

Dates: Monday, July 12 – Friday, July 16, 2021| Grades: 5 – 8

 

Cyber Camp 1.0

Dates: Monday, July 19 – Friday, July 23, 2021| Grades: 9 – 12

 

CYBER CAMP 2.0

Dates: Monday, August 2 – Friday, August 6, 2021| Grades: 9 – 12

 

Online registration for the 2021 STEM summer camps is open and will remain open until all camps are filled. Current STEM funding has made it possible to provide summer camps FREE of charge in 2021!
